About Us

Our Story

My (Jeremiah) journey into farming started at a young age on my great-grandfather's farm, just across the field from my childhood home, and on my grandfather's farm, about a mile away—where our farm is now. As a child, I was involved in milking cows, tending to calves, and helping with fieldwork. It was during these early years that I discovered my love for farming and dreamed of having my own farm, though I had no interest in running a dairy operation.

In 2016, my wife Cherie and I were looking for land to build a home, start our own farm, and raise our kids. That’s when the chance to buy my grandparents' farm came up. At the time, the fields were used for cash crops, but since we wanted to raise cattle, we started converting the fields into pasture for our herd. We acquired our first herd of seven Highland cows in 2019 and have since grown to nearly 50 head.

I am deeply committed to regenerative farming practices, avoiding chemicals and sprays to cultivate healthier land. I believe in the importance of raising my own food and knowing where it comes from.

By growing our own food, we gain greater control over its quality and sustainability, ensuring it aligns with our values. Raising our own food not only fosters a deeper connection to the land and the animals but also contributes to a more self-sufficient and resilient lifestyle. This approach reflects my dedication to nurturing both the environment and our community, emphasizing the value of local, mindful food production.

Thank you so much for supporting our dreams and family, we greatly appreciate everyone who has helped us grow as farmers, in knowledge and in purchasing from us!

Love, Jeremiah & Cherie Mewes
